Beneath the grandeur, elaborate sets and period costumes of traditional opera lie everyday dramas – characters embroiled in family feuds, relationship issues and the highs and lows of falling in and out of love.
This unique production by Rogue Opera weaves a modern story, with new original dialogue, through opera’s big tunes; the tear-jerkers, the crowd-pleasers and, of course, the drinking songs (all performed in their original languages). Encompassing friendship, betrayal, intrigue, love, laughter and mischief, it’s a great evening of entertainment.
Come and meet some of opera’s most famous characters, up close and personal, in Fullers’ fantastic pub gardens.

Follow this awesome foursome as they navigate their way through the pitfalls of their lives and relationships, assuming personas from other operas in a quest to change themselves to find true love. Or maybe they’ll realise that happiness comes from the simple things – good food, good wine* and good company (in a pub garden).
Meet Mimi, (The Good Girl), Carmen, (the Popular One, Rodolfo (The Complicated One) and Escamilla (The Alpha Male).
Mimi is a beautician who started an Etsy shop during lockdown to sell her hand-crafted material flowers and other creations. She and Carmen have been friends since primary school
Carmen has always been the extroverted one in any group. She knew she was destined for the stage from an early age. She met Escamillo, a Mixed Martial Arts YouTube Star, at a gallery opening event just before the pandemic hit…
Rodolfo is a poet and singer-songwriter, a deep thinker and a sensitive soul. He has found the pandemic and lockdown incredibly hard, emotionally and creatively. At high school, Rodolfo had a crush on Carmen for a long time, but she hardly even noticed him
Born to Spanish parents, Escamillo has always had a fascination with the Toreador culture and has found an equivalent thrill-of-combat in MMA. He has had a few serious relationships but as his celebrity grows he finds it harder to meet the right person.
